Hi, I’m Ruby Chen — a visual designer and creative lead shaping stylish, culturally aware worlds for mobile games. I design with taste, but also with strategy. My work lives at the intersection of art direction, player psychology, and modern visual culture.
I’ve contributed to mobile titles with global reach, collaborating closely with both the US and Beijing teams at Magic Tavern. My focus is building visual systems that feel intentional — art that supports onboarding, narrative clarity, emotional resonance, and long-term user retention.
My strength sits between disciplines: trend intuition, aesthetics, product logic, and cross-team alignment. I care about how visual choices influence KPIs, how players read emotional cues, and how art direction can quietly shape behavior across live-ops cycles.
I was born in Taiwan, raised between Thailand and the U.S., and that cross-cultural frame informs my entire visual lens: anime influences, Y2K tech nostalgia, feminine-punk palettes, and a playful edge. Outside of games, I explore themes of identity and sensuality in my personal work — the same sensitivities that guide my approach to player-facing design.
I’m open to collaborations that value visual clarity, cultural insight, and creative leadership rooted in both style and strategy.
